The British Fertility Society provides an overarching multi-disciplinary forum for its membership and comprises of two sections:

The BFS Educational Charity (Charity Number 10756610) manages and administers all aspects of the British Fertility Society membership. Income is generated from membership subscriptions, training modules and sponsorship from its Principal and Corporate Sponsors. The Society’s educational activities include but are not exclusive to:

  • Provision of the BFS certification modules
  • Support of the Society’s publications (the journal and the newsletter)
  • Public relations activities
  • Maintenance of the Society’s website
  • Support of the Society’s Executive Committee, Board of Trustees and Secretariat Office
  • Communication with BFS membership
  • Consultation with the members to reflect the consensus of opinion.
  • Communication with professional bodies including the Department of Health, the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority, the Royal Colleges and other societies both nationally and internationally
  • Development of Policy and Practice documents and guidelines to support the provision of good practice within the sector

The British Fertility Society Ltd (Company registration number 3082031) manages and administers the main BFS meetings and study days and is registered for VAT. Income is generated from the sale of exhibition sponsorship and the fees levied to delegates at meetings and study days.
